The Zoo was opened in 1970 by Steve Irwin's parents and passed on to him later in life. We were able to get close up to koalas, roos and other exotic wildlife...even Steve's missus with a photo opportunity early on for Mike. Steve Irwin was killed in September 2006 by a stingray barb while out filming an underwater documentary off the coast of Queensland.

But it's all smiles as Peachy realises there's no competition.
Brent however gets a nose full of the stinky stuff...Pooo!!
It took him some time to recover as Clarissa's odour followed him round for several days after...
